Changlong LIU

Professional Title: Professor

Education: PhD

Supervisor Category: Doctoral Supervisor

Research Fields: porcine epidemic diarrhea virus and other swine infectious virus

1. Introduction

Prof. LIU is a Principal Investigator at SHVRI, CAAS. He received his PhD degree from Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and University of South Carolina. He joined the Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute in August 2019. He has been recognized as the Shanghai "Pujiang Talent Plan (Class A)" and as the "Young Talent" by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Dr. Liu Lab mainly focus on the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus and other swine infectious virus. His research utilizes porcine organoids, gene editing, whole-genome CRISPR/Cas9 genetic screening, machine learning, and mutiple omics combined with cellular biochemistry and reverse genetics to deeply explore the interactions between viruses and their hosts. Currently, he has published many high-impact papers as the first author or corresponding author in prestigious journals such as PNAS, Cancer Research, Viruses, Virus Research and so on. He has been granted 2 national invention patents and 1 U.S. patent.
