Personal resume

Dr. Liao Ying received her Ph.D. training in 2007 from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She currently is a professor, a PhD supervisor, and the chief scientist of the poultry viral disease team, Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. She serves as a member of the 10th Poultry Disease Society of the Chinese Association of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, a senior member of the Shanghai Agricultural System Intellectuals Association, a guest editorial board member of Frontiers in Veterinary Science, section Veterinary Infectious Diseases, a guest editor of Frontiers in Microbiology, and the 7th session of the "Journal of Virology" (ISSN 1000-8721) Editorial board members, etc. She was awarded as young talent of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (2015-2018), Minhang leading talent (2020), Shanghai leading talent reserve candidates, etc. She has been engaged in the research of animal coronavirus and Newcastle disease virus for decades. The main research interest includes virus molecular etiology, virus and host cell interaction, immune escape and pathogenic mechanism, epidemic transmission, recombination mutation, tissue tropism change and cross-species, and applies the reverse genetic cloning technology to develop vector vaccines for poultry viral diseases. She published the articles in the Journal of Plos Pathogens, Journal of Virology, Cell Death & Diseases, Journal of Immunology, Fronttiers in Microbiology, Virology, Viruses, Veterinary Research, Journal of General Virology, Oncotarget, FEBS letter, BBRC, and is involved in the writing of the book "Poultry Respiratory Diseases" (co-editor).
