Team Introduction

Our team constituted with 8 staff members including 4 professors and 4 associate professors. There are also 15 Ph. D students and 30 post-graduate students are now studying in our team.

Our team mainly focus on the biology, prevalence, transmission mechanism, genetic evolution and pathogenicity of foodborne pathogens, and the safety risk assessment, risk prevention and control technology of animal-derived food. The research contents now include the biology, pathogenicity, drug resistance, genotype identification, genetic evolution, transmission mechanism, and prevalence characteristic of important foodborne parasites and bacteria. Monitoring of biological hazard factors in animal-derived foods, such as meat, eggs, milk, and aquatic products are conducted from farm to table. Risk assessments are carried out on the quality and safety of animal-derived food, and the safety and environmental release evaluation of transgenic plants and animals are carried out. Development of new detection technique for the food-borne pathogens and its drugs resistance, residual drugs and hormones in animals and their products, and new prevention and control reagents are conducted. Technical support of pathogen detection, and diagnosis, prevention and control of animal diseases caused by zoonotic pathogens are carried out. The national standards or industrial standards related with the food borne pathogens will be developed or revised. The technology extension, and science popularization related with the food-borne diseases and the quality and safety of animal-derived food are also carried out in the team.
