Group of Swine Infectious Diseases (GSID) focus on the swine zoonotic diseases and swine infectious diseases. As one research group in Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute (SHVRI), GSID dedicated to basic and applied research on transmission mechanisms, risk evaluation, surveillance warning and interdiction techniques of those infectious diseases. Eventually, GSID developed the novel prevention techniques and translational products against the swine zoonotic diseases and swine infectious diseases. Currently, there are 4 aims, as follows:
Aim1: Development of surveillance and prevention techniques of Africa Swine Fever
Aim2: Studies on transmission mechanism and interdiction techniques of Vector-borne diseases
Aim3: Studies on the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance among the bacterial pathogens and novel control techniques against the bacterial pathogens in swine respiratory tract
Aim4: Studies on immunopathogenesis of the viral-bacteria coinfections in swine respiratory tract and development of prevention techniques against those diseases
GSID has established the technique platforms for those above studies and have 9 research members and more than 25 graduate students for working on those projects.
