1. Introduction

Dr. Gao Fei is a researcher, doctoral supervisor, and the executive chief of the Research Team for the Prevention and Control of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS). She has been actively involved in the research on the replication and transcription mechanism of  arterivirus  and the development of novel gene engineering vaccines with multiple antigens. She has received four research and academic awards as the first author. She has led or participated in 12 research projects, including the key research and development project in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021YFD1801401), the National Key Research and Development Program in the 13th Five-Year Plan - Key International S&T Innovation Cooperation Project (2016YFE0112500), the Horizon 2020 Project of the European Union (SAPHIR-633184) Workpackage3, National Natural Science Foundation projects, Shanghai Natural Science Foundation projects, Guangdong Province Key Special Project for African Swine Fever Emergency Prevention and Control, with a cumulative total funding of 21.5 million RMB. She has also participated as a key member in 11 projects, including National Natural Science Foundation Key Projects, ASFV research projects, EU Seventh Framework Program projects, and Technology Support Program projects. She has supervised the training of seven master’s students. She has published over 80 papers in domestic and international academic journals such as the,,, and, with 16 of them being SCI papers as the first or corresponding author. She has published one monograph and obtained 12 national invention patents, with 6 additional patents currently under application. She has also obtained one certificate for transgenic safety issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and one software copyright registration certificate. Her research achievements have been partially transformed into practical applications. She has been selected as an outstanding talent in the Minhang Chunshen Pyramid Talent Plan, “Science and Technology Innovation Talent” in Minhang District, and has won the Outstanding Young Talent Award of the“Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences-Dabeinong Talent Award”in 2022.
