Introduction

The first electron microscope in the Electron Microscope Lab was installed and put into operation in 2011. After years of development, the laboratory now has one transmission electron microscope (FEI T12) and one field emission scanning electron microscope (Hitachi SU8010), equipped with more than 10 sets of complete application and sample preparation equipment such as cryo-transfer and ultra-thin slicing machines. For many years, we have been committed to the development and application of electron microscopy in various fields, especially in the separation and morphological identification of pathogens, ultra microscopic pathological diagnosis, research and development of veterinary drugs and vaccines, and have accumulated rich experience. We have formed a complete service system in laboratory management, which can meet the full process service needs from experimental design, sample preparation, observation to data analysis. Electron microscopy not only serves universities, research institutes, and enterprise users in Shanghai, but also serves users in multiple provinces such as Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, and Jiangxi.

Main service technologies:

Sample types: animal and plant tissues, viruses, bacteria, cosmetics, nanomaterials, dairy products, etc.

Scanning electron microscopy: conventional sample morphology observation, freeze transport technology, freeze fracture.

Transmission electron microscopy: room temperature ultra-thin sections, negative staining technique, immunoelectron microscopy (including pre - and post embedding labeling using room temperature and low temperature techniques), immunochemical techniques (such as calcium ion localization), and three-dimensional reconstruction (Tomography). Featured applications: In situ embedding of single-layer cell samples, preparation of trace samples, rapid sample preparation technology, wide field imaging, etc.
