To boost global cooperation in poultry health management and improve disease prevention in poultry farming, SHVRI recently sent representatives to the International Poultry Health Management Conference at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-Arid Agriculture University) in Pakistan. Professor Shaohui WANG and Chunchun MENG presented academic reports and chaired the conference.
Professor MENG delivered a comprehensive presentation on the significant breakthroughs in avian virology, with an in-depth analysis of the molecular epidemiological characteristics of Newcastle disease and novel prevention and control technologies. Professor WANG introduced the latest findings in avian bacterial disease research, focusing on the pathogenic mechanisms of avian pathogenic Escherichia coli and M ycoplasm a and sharing integrated prevention and control strategies. Their presentations highlighted SHVRI's innovative achievements in avian disease prevention and control. The scientific value and application prospects of the research findings were highly praised and widely acknowledged by the experts in attendance.
Later on, Professor WANG and Professor MENG visited the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at PMAS-Arid Agriculture University. Accompanied by Dean Arfan Yousaf, they systematically toured the key labs and research platforms. In-depth talks were held on veterinary discipline development, joint research, international talent training, and collaborative project applications. Both parties reached a consensus on establishing a long-term strategic partnership.
The conference strengthened China-Pakistan exchanges in veterinary research and shaped an international veterinary science cooperation platform. It propelled the innovation of global poultry disease prevention systems and healthy poultry farming, and bolstered "Belt and Road" agricultural technology cooperation.
Experts in poultry disease research from China, the UK, Canada, Malaysia, Pakistan, and other countries, totaling over 300, attended the conference.
